Principal Sales Engineer

Summary of Role:
The Sales Engineer works closely with the Rypple sales team to increase the number of Rypple clients and revenues.  The Sales Engineer is the product/technical liaison with the client/prospect.

Core Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

Conduct discovery sessions to completely understand customer goals and challenges and establish Rypple’s product as the best solution available.

Provide input on the qualification of prospects and play a significant role in the creation of business strategies to secure client wins.

Participate in the development and delivery of differentiated custom solutions and presentations, including advanced technical concepts, to key decision makers to address their business issues and needs delivery in an effective and timely manner, on RFI / RFPs orchestrating a technical sales cycle which requires involvement of multiple resources.

Build and present customized demonstrations.  Present Rypple technology infrastructure, including demonstrating deep familiarity with hardware, software, networking and security stack.

Participate in all product, sales, and process training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective.

Effectively communicate competitive intelligence from the field and work with the product management teams to provide feedback on current and future product requirements.

Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management.

Respond effectively to RFPs.

North America travel required.


Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or MIS.  An MBA would be considered an asset.

3-5 years experience as a sales engineer or previous experience working with applications in a customer facing role at a leading SAAS provider.

3-5 years selling HCM and experience in HR practices.


Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems in varied political environments.

Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

Proven time management skills in a dynamic sales environment.

Knowledge of related applications, relational databases, and web technology and ability to understand the dependencies on other 3rd party software components to develop complete solutions for customers.

Basic programming experience in HTML and other web based technologies
