Financial Reporting Analyst

Essential Job Functions:

      Record monthly journal entries related to investments and mark-to-market derivatives, including preparation of related supporting schedules and account reconciliations; record quarterly journal entry for non-performance risk adjustment to derivatives
      Perform bank reconciliations; identify any necessary corrections, explain reconciling items, and record certain cash entries for bank fees and interest income
      Reconcile intercompany receivable and payable accounts, and ensure intercompany balances are properly eliminated on a consolidated basis
      Create financial statements and related schedules for the monthly financial package, ensuring all statements are complete and accurate by agreeing to support such as the trial balance, analysis, rollforwards, and reconciliations
      Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis and explain significant variances in financial statement accounts, utilizing input from the respective account owners in the Accounting department
      Compile 10-K and 10-Q drafts, update disclosures for the current reporting period, and complete disclosure checklist to ensure all required information is properly included
      Tie out all SEC filings and maintain organized tie-out binders to facilitate easy access to supporting documentation
      Review XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnotes for Forms 10-K and 10-Q
      Coordinate with independent auditors in order to facilitate a successful audit and provide documentation requests as necessary
      Prepare supporting schedules for quarterly press releases and review finance materials for accuracy
      Particpate in special projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

      1 year of experience in Audit, Financial Reporting and/or oil & gas industry Accounting
      Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
      Proficient in Excel

    * Excellent communication skills
    * Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess mobility to work in a   standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read   printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications:

      Oil and gas experience
      Big 4 audit public accounting experience
      Master's degree in accounting
      Experience working with Enertia software
    * CPA
