BASIC FUNCTIONS: Nucor Steel Bar IT Group is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Oracle Database Administrator. This position will oversee a distributed database environment. Selected candidate will be tasked with reviewing, analyzing, and modifying database and database environments to increase system stability and performance. Must be able to design, test and implement database solutions to increase efficiency throughout the Bar Mill Group with a focus on customer service.
Requirements

PREREQUISITES:

    * Minimum 3 years (preferably at least 5 years) of Database Administration experience with Oracle 10g & 11g on UNIX/Linux and/or Windows platforms
    * Minimum 3 years (preferably at least 5 years) of experience troubleshooting and problem solving Oracle database issues

PREFERENCES:

    * Four year undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
    * Oracle and Unix related certifications
    * Working knowledge of Oracle RAC, Grid Control, ASM & Dataguard
    * Oracle Archiving, Data Warehouse and Partitioning experience
    * Database & application tuning, data migration, upgrades and patch installations
    * Experience with distributed systems using snapshots and materialized views
    * Experience managing GoldenGate based replication
    * Demonstrated experience using SQL, PL/SQL and Unix shell scripting
    * Demonstrated experience with Oracle backup and recovery techniques
    * SAN experience a plus
