Accounts Payable Manager

The Manager, Controls & Reporting position is located in the North America Finance Service Center located in Fort Worth, Texas, with anticipated start date of June 2012.

Role Description
This position manages the RTP reconciliation and operations onshore/offshore (Genpact) activities and key local/global projects. In addition, this position is responsible for establishing and testing internal controls, documentation, reconciliation, reporting, and strong regulatory/audit compliance.

Major Accountabilities
• Actively manage control and reporting policy, processes, and systems. Responsible for managing the monthly compilation of performance metrics as well as ensuring continued compliance through the monitoring of account reconciliations, Sox control testing, and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for one or more BUs.
• Responsible for managing Novartis’ primary Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) offshore supplier, as well as all other 3rd party supplier relationships that support the RTP control, reconciliation, and reporting process and systems. Ensure appropriate reporting and metrics are in place to provide transparency to operational efficiency and effectiveness with all 3rd party suppliers.
• Must be able to proactively challenge the Status Quo, taking calculated risks and making fact based recommendations, and having the ability to coach themselves and others around adapting to change. Must have a high level of comfort with change.
• Demonstrate experience in project management/team management and effective communication with stakeholders
• Foster and encourage an environment of team work, customer service, communication, and empowerment
• Aggressively grow and stretch direct reports through local and global development activities and assignments. Act as primary coach and mentor for entire team.
Minimum requirements    Education:
Finance or Information Systems Bachelor’s Degree Highly Preferred

4-6 years of work experience
• Previous management role in control/reporting/reconciliation functions
• Demonstrated success of managing a Financial BPO (offshore) organization; work/cultural experience with India-based operations desired
• Previous experience in dealing with internal and external auditors
• Experience with creation and maintenance of SOPs and control matrices
• Seasoned experience with analysis, problem solving, and project management
• Experience with Ariba/SAP/BW/eTravel systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous measureable process and system improvements and efficiencies
• Six Sigma project management experience desired
