Collateral Underwriter- Appraisal Review

Job Description

With a top notch sales and operations staff, NASB has closed over $7.5 Billion in residential home mortgages in the last 5 years.

We are currently searching for an experienced Collateral Underwriter for our Mortgage Operations Center in Kansas City, MO. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5-7 years of mortgage industry experience as a full-time Underwriter or Appraiser with heavy emphasis on collateral review.



    * Underwrite the quality of the appraisal report, the overall condition of the property, and its functional design in order to evaluate the fair market value to serve as collateral for a mortgage loan.
    * Ensure compliance to FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, Shelf, and Portfolio for investment quality and salability while employing prudent standards to minimize losses and ensure fair lending requirements.
    * Must be familiar with a variety of the industry’s concepts, practices and procedures.
    * Ensure compliance with NASB and delegated investor underwriting guidelines on NASB and wholesale originated loans.
    * Keep up to date on current FHA, VA, FHLMC, FNMA, Shelf, Portfolio and delegated investor guidelines, and private mortgage insurance requirements.
    * Must be well informed with USPAP and maintain a current appraisers license and certification through continuing education.
    * Must be in good standing with NASB investors, Fannie, Freddie and FHA.
    * Must be state certified as an appraiser in either Kansas or Missouri.
