Yield Enhancement Technologist

Fab 10 - Yield Enhancement Technologist

Job Description

  • Responsible for daily low yield analysis and electrical testing of NAND memory devices using electrical test equipment.
  • Perform sample preparation analysis which could include: X-sections and overviews with chemical staining techniques, taking appropriate pictures for Fab targets and providing timely feedback to keep production tools running.
  • Support the analysis of wafers with functional failures by using various Failure Analysis equipment and techniques to isolate the possible defects.
  • Daily low yield lot disposition
  • Use standard software applications for analytical job management and results reporting
  • Package yield analysis data into clear and concise reports
  • Electrical fault isolation on NAND memory devices using electrical test equipment (bench tester, EMMI etc.) to isolate the faulty location on the die
  • Failure analysis which includes operating and qualifying the state-of-the-art analytical lab equipment including Optical and Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM), Focus Ion Beams (FIB), Transmission Electronic Microscope (TEM), wet and dry etching and delayering to identify yield-limiting issues such as processing defects and electrical margin failures
  • Perform necessary sample preparation techniques to enable subsequent analyses to be conducted
  • Support routine inline process targeting jobs using defined and documented procedures meeting or exceeding cycle time and quality standard expectations
  • Interact with the customers on defining analytical methods needed to achieve expected results, meeting expectations of analyses and interpretation of results
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements

  • Diploma in an electronics related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of physics concepts and principles
  • Basic understanding of Semiconductor device manufacturing process
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry concepts and principles
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of the specific area equipment and processes
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with failure analysis equipment is a plus
  • Proficient in PC Windows environment
  • Proven ability to prioritize your workload and work independently
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Unsolicited follow-through and a can-do attitude
  • Prepared to work on rotating 12-hr day/night shift
