S&P Capital IQ is currently searching for a Software Engineer to join our global team in New York, NY.

Our Software Engineers are self-motivated with proven track records, superior academic backgrounds, and the desire to learn more about the finance industry to help us build the next generation in portfolio management software. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for full life-cycle development ranging from requirements analysis to deployment; the design and implementation of user-driven enhancements and requirements; testing, documenting, and supporting enterprise-quality software; documenting technical procedures and best practices on intranet; and ensuring timely delivery of application and compatibility with architecture standards.

Qualifications

    * Java, C#, or C++ proficiency; experience with object-oriented programming
    * Haskell, Scala, F#, or other functional programming experience a plus
    * Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Ruby, Python, shell scripts) a plus
    * Able to work well individually and with a team
    * Strong academic background and problem solving skills
    * Strong work ethic, self-starter, and results oriented
    * Interest and experience in finance is a plus
    * Passionate, smart, and articulate developer
    * B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
