Job description:
A Health & Benefits Analyst is responsible for providing technical and professional support in the plan design, financing, pricing, valuation, and administration of medical, dental, life and disability insurance programs sponsored by our clients. To fulfill this role, the Analyst will:
§ Collect, analyze and interpret life, disability and health care insurance data
§ Analyze claims, estimate future plan costs, calculate plan costs, and develop pricing using in-house tools
§ Assist in the development of customized pricing and valuation models
§ Value employer benefit liabilities under various plan design scenarios
§ Assist with the management of employer group benefit plans including: analysis of financial reports and rate setting, negotiating with insurers; review and revision of policy and benefit wording and calculation of cost implications of plan redesign or union negotiating demands
§ Develop awareness of life, disability and health care insurance plan design, cost factors and conduct the renewal process
§ Develop employees contribution strategies to meet employer cost objectives
§ Understand employer HR issues as they relate to benefits

Qualifications
§ BA/BS degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, economics, business, or finance
§ Superior analytical and mathematical skills; strong command of Excel and other MS Office tools
§ Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills
§ Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
§ Ability to work independently and on a team
§ Prepared to achieve Life License within a year
