Financial Controller -

Responsibilities: Position Summary The Controller is responsible for the provision of accurate accounting records for the Singapore businesses in accordance with U.S. and local accounting standards and corporate controls. The incumbent will also play a key management role by providing financial analysis and modeling, comprehensive reporting, and other critical support functions to achieve plans and objectives. The role will have a dual reporting relationship to the Senior Controller, Asia Pacific Region and the Singapore General Manager. Reporting Status This position reports to the Senior Controller, Asia Pacific region. Supervisory Responsibility The incumbent will have dotted line supervisory responsibility to a shared resource Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities Primary responsibilities include the following: Management Provide financial management and strategy for the Singapore business unit and regional headquarter company. Lead the annual business planning process within the established corporate framework. Financial Reporting Manage the month-end closing process; lead the revenue recognition process. Prepare monthly financial statements (operating packaget), forecast, performance dashboard and related analysis to facilitate Monthly operating reviews. Ensure all internal controls are in place and policies are compliant with local and U.S. GAAP reporting requirements. Ensure accounting records are prepared, maintained and reported in accordance with local and U.S. GAAP. Financial Planning & Analysis Direct financial modeling and analysis to evaluate capital projects, strategic initiatives, and corporate development opportunities. Prepare forecasts of business activity and financial position using backlog, sales and capacity metrics. Business Decision Support Recommend business strategies, plans, and objectives for revenue growth and/or cost reduction programs to enhance profitability and return. Support corporate cash management and US tax reporting Liaise regularly with corporate departments to align strategies and objectives and respond to corporate needs. Interact regularly with BU and APAC management to provide counsel and guidance regarding financial and strategic matters. Perform all other activities, as directed. Requirements: Qualification Requirements: Education and/or Experience: The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. A CPA/CFA and/or MBA with a concentration in Finance is strongly preferred. Minimum of five years of finance and managerial experience in construction, engineering, and/or investment banking/financial services is preferred. In addition, it is preferable that he or she be familiar with U.S. GAAP and current SEC rules and reporting requirements. Language Skills: Fluent English is essential. Ability to write management reports and prepare business correspondences. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Excellent organizational, written oral communication skills, as well as solid customer relations skills are required. Mathematical Skills: Excellent skills and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and other fundamental business related mathematics. Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve problems with practical solutions and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other Skills and Abilities Leadership Skills: Must be independent and mature with strong leadership skills and the ability to quickly impact bottom-line results and able to multi-task and meet deadlines. People Skills: Must have strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and empower an organization. In addition, must be a strong communicator and be able to take the initiative to function without day-to-day guidance.
