Reliability Engineer

As part of the Reliability Team, the Engineer will be involved in all aspects of the Problem, Cause and Solution (PCS) Methodology and Toolset, including:


    * Structured system Failure Mode analysis
    * Fault Tree development
    * Troubleshoot development
    * Knowledge Management
    * Statistical Analysis

The PCS Methodology and Toolset are currently used at Cymer.

    * Applies Systems Engineering knowledge to define and document Failure Modes causing System Level (unwanted) symptoms in manufacturing or field.
    * Perform data analyses for a given Failure Mode, and translates that in a clearly defined Problem, Cause, and Solution data-set (PCS data-set) for that Failure Mode.
    * Analysis of product diagnostic data for signature definition for individual Failure Modes, and how to obtain them.
    * Store PCS data-set in a knowledge management dBase (PCS dBase) with Fault Tree architecture to support the PCS Methodology and PCS Workflow.
    * Manage efficiency and maintainability of PCS dBase structure.
    * Weekly meetings with the field to close the loop on the disposition of Error and Failure mode for subject Service Events.
    * Performs other duties may be assigned.

    * In depth understanding of, and demonstrated success in, the application of the principles of FMEA, and Fault Tree development.
    * Experience with functional, physical, logical, operational, and other system failure mode analyses as performed in all phases of system development
    * Basic, broad knowledge in Hardware Electronics, Software, and Optic and systematically troubleshooting thereof. Proficient in one or more.
    * Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and ensure work products are of high quality.
    * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral to disparate functional areas.
    * Experience in data-analysis and correlating data signatures and Failure Modes


    * Requires a minimum BS in Science or Engineering. A few years of engineering experience desirable.
    * Experience with requirements analysis and requirements management tool like  Teamcenter™ Systems Engineering or Doors, is desirable
    * Basic training in systems engineering is desirable.
    * Experience with FMEA process and Fault Tree analysis
    * Experience in programming and/or scripting languages e.g. C, C++, Visual Basic, TCL
    * Proficient on Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio
