Manufacturing Engineer (Electronics)

 Job Title: Research & Development Engineer      

Reports To: R&D Director


    * Lead projects with the new business development team and market leaders to drive product development in new markets and applications for business growth.
    * Up to 50% of working time performing “hands on” laboratory work including but not limited to:
          o Sample fabrication including panels and laminates.
          o Testing, including new test development.
          o New product design.
          o Tooling, machining, and other fabrications.
    * Up to 50% of working time with formal project leadership including but not limited to:
          o Coordination and interaction with project team members, sales, and customers.
          o Development and implementation of action plans.
          o Analysis and interpretations of data from internal and external sources;.
          o Presentations to management.
    * Up to 25% of working time travelling.


Professional Experience

    * Proven track record of success in driving composites new product development as measured by new sales and new markets.
    * Must have strong computer skills including the effective use of all Microsoft Office software.
    * Minimum of 5 years experience with project leadership in composites development, including but not limited to:
          o Experience and knowledge with composites manufacturing and processing including molding, pultrusion, and extrusion.
          o Applications work with customers in the field for technical response to voice of the customer.
          o Formulation and compounding with a wide variety of materials, including thermoset and thermoplastic resins, reinforcements, coatings, and additives.
          o Tooling, instrumentation, machining, and mechanical testing as well as design.
    * Team player
          o  “Self-starter”
          o Works “hands on” and cooperates with others



    * Minimum BS in Engineering, Polymer Science, or related science.
