You will be responsible for mentoring engineering teams by providing expert knowledge and best practices in the use of Crane Aerospace & Electronics design and analysis tools.  Accountable for tool level productivity of Engineering teams. Ensures usage of common methodologies, tools & processes throughout AG as appropriate.  Manages design and analysis tool roadmaps and maintains the appropriate level of tool capabilities required  to produce current and legacy artifacts.  Actively manages cost of ownership of these tools and their usage across Crane Aerospace & Electronics Solutions.

Responsibilities:

    * Mentor engineering teams by providing expert knowledge and best practices in the use of Crane Aerospace & Electronics design and analysis tools.
    * Ensure activities are performed in accordance with industry and company standards, including all necessary design and analysis artifacts as required by Solutions teams and compliance standards.
    * Provide documented Best Practices guidance on the use and applications of CAD and eCAD tools including Inventor, Solidworks, UG, Pro/E, ANSYS, PADS, Pantheon, ViewDraw, Mozaix, Matlab and similar tools.
    * Manager processes for CAD WIP and integration to Enterprise PLM and ERP tools.
    * Technical management responsibilities for functionality provided by Enterprise Design and Analysis tools in support of Product Development processes at Crane Aerospace
    * Support the Director, Engineering Tools & Process in the development and communication of Tools strategies and Solution plans throughout the organization.
    * Support the Manager, Engineering Tools in run time support of best practice processes and standards for management and tool-level productivity of  Engineering teams.
    * Manages design and analysis tool roadmaps and maintains the appropriate level of tool capabilities required  to produce current and legacy artifacts.
    * Responsible for maintaining the technical skill levels in order to support current Tools and future upgrades.
    * Develop business case and support spending requests for new tool purchases and upgrades to existing tools.
    * Enable and facilitate outsourcing of drawing changes and CAD/eCAD related tasks as apprpriate  using our Offshore Development Centre and other partners
    * Ensure compliance to ANSI and government standards for drawing submissions to internal and external customers
    * Work closely with Export Control to ensure export control requirements are met in every case technical data is being interchanges with our partners and customers

Minimum Requirements:

    * Experience: Five years experience in Aerospace technical environment including high-level design and analysis using tools
    * Knowledge: Experience and knowledge in training and support of CAD, eCAD, Schematics and Analysis application best practices.
    * Skills:
          o Thorough knowledge of run time support of engineering CAD, eCAD, Schematics design and analysis applications, methods and techniques
          o Technical product lifecycle  management systems applicable to a high technology aerospace & electronics design and manufacturing organizations
          o Proven leadership ability, including demonstrated ability to mentor teams of engineers across multiple sites

    * Education/Certification: Bachelors degree in Engineering with focus on design and analysis or equivalent experience
    * Eligibility Requirement: Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
