About the Opportunity

Position Summary:

To support engineering activities (concept, requirements development, design, integration test and problem resolution) as a senior level engineer within a collaborative Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment using structured processes while responsible for multiple independent tasks. Will work with internal and external customers ensuring their satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

    * Responsible for all Systems Engineering aspects (architecture and components) from initial product research, architecture definition, requirements definition, management and flow down to functional engineering groups.
    * Contribute and lead the planning, modeling, simulation, specifications and integration of components that reside in a system comprised of microcontrollers, embedded software and sensors.
    * Act as a focal for hardware and software, mechanical systems, safety and reliability.
    * Responsible for maintaining hardware and software configurations during development, integration, flight test and certification.
    * Help define the system architecture definition for brake control and indication systems in a structured environment to meet customer needs.
    * Participate in the certification compliance activities of essential and critical level control systems for aircraft applications and execute projects in accordance with schedules and budgets.
    * Coordinate activities of others assigned within the integrated product team.

Technical Skills:

    * Fundamental understanding of aircraft systems and embedded avionics with the ability to devise appropriate architectures to address aircraft system needs.
    * Expertise in requirements flowdown process from customer requirements to hardware, software and test requirements.
    * Expertise in requirements management tool such as DOOR’s.
    * Expertise in change management and associated problem reporting tools.
    * Knowledge of the certification process for aircraft systems.

Requirements:

    * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related Science/Engineering field. Advanced degree a plus.
    * Two to Five (2-5) years related experience.  Aerospace industry knowledge preferred.
    * Project leadership experience ability, and must have good written and verbal communication skills.
    * Computer skills and Microsoft Office. Matlab/Simulink skills desired but not mandatory.

    * Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible for this position.
