About the Opportunity

Purpose of Position:

In summary you will be responsible to maximize product performance by researching, designing, developing and sustaining electronic or electrical products and systems.  Perform analyses on new product designs to ensure efficiency, reliability and quality.  Participate in engineering design review and testing of products.  The overall objective is to ensure customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements and Responsibilities:

    * Produce thorough and accurate designs and develop work that meets all customer specifications and company requirements for schedule, cost, production ability, quality and reliability. May follow the design through the entire design and manufacturing lifecycle.
    * Design, fabricate, modify and evaluate electronic apparatus, components, or circuits for use within electronics and/or aerospace equipment, devices, and systems.
    * Conduct technical analysis to validate designs, including but not limited to: trait studies, product design, system/component integration, mathematical modeling, reliability analysis, and development.
    * Perform functional, acceptance, qualification, or development testing on new or modified designs.
    * Perform detailed circuit analysis to verify design compliance to specific performance targets.  Analysis to include computer-aided modeling and the generation of schematics.
    * Prepare and review technical reports/documentation necessary to satisfy customer, internal and program requirements, including specifications, design documents, test plans/procedures, reports, correspondence, etc.
    * Support the bid and proposal process through technical assistance, preliminary designs, research and development, etc.
    * Establish and maintain proactive communication channels with customers, suppliers, and internal organizations as required to meet project goals.
    * Provide diagnostic support to manufacturing on new and existing products.
    * Take on special projects as needed, and mentor others in areas of expertise.

Highly Regarded Qualifications:

    * Experience in designing, developing and qualifying aircraft components.
    * DO-254 experience.
    * Embedded experience.

Education and/or Experience:

    * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical discipline. (Master’s Degree Preferred).
    * Minimum Ten (10) + years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering.
    * Possess a strong background in design and troubleshooting.
    * Must have experience in the design and development of: Analog and/or digital discrete circuitry, Programmable and discrete logic, Surface mount electronic component based hardware.
    * Experience with design and analysis for similar/related Electronic, Aerospace and/or Defense products.
    * Experience with IPC standards.

Knowledge:

    * Knowledge of embedded digital circuitry and software control.
    * Knowledge of circuit design and development with microcontroller/microprocessor based systems.
    * Knowledge of equipment utilized in support of testing similar/related Electronic, Aerospace and/or Defense products.

Skills:

    * Ability to perform technical writing assignments in generation of test specifications, hardware requirements, and customer proposals.
    * Good technical writing and verbal communication skills with proficient computer skills in common office software programs.
    * Demonstration of a very cooperative, helpful attitude. Team members in all areas of the facility will be required to aid in developing a positive relationship between Engineering and all plant levels.
    * Occasional travel to customer and supplier facilities for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, product support, and technical seminars.
