PC Support Specialis

We have a unique and exciting career opportunity for a PC Support Specialist.

    * Provides help desk support including telephone coverage and troubleshooting at users’ desks.
    * Installs and configures approved hardware and software in adherence to Crane Aerospace rules and naming conventions.
    * Supports upgrading and repairs of PC hardware and troubleshooting PC software.
    * Supports and troubleshoots application software
    * Performs Microsoft Windows user profile migrations and workstation configuration maintenance.
    * Investigate LAN and WAN trouble shooting activities and coordinates corrective action with Network Administrator.
    * Maintains inventory of hardware and log of support calls in the company’s help desk management system.
    * Utilizes approved vendor utilities for analysis, diagnostics & asset tracking (e.g., Active Directory, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, enterprise antivirus & security products, Microsoft Remote Desktop).
    * Tracks and documents diagnostic results and installation instructions.
    * Provides support for Telecommunications and mobile devices (e.g., provides support for conference calling, video conferencing & web-based conferencing; supports conference phones, audio visual equipment, and Microsoft Lync);
    * Maintain inventory of spare parts.
    * Assist in the ordering of parts and hardware.
    * Evaluate new versions of software and hardware.
    * Support special projects.
    * Performs highly technical and complex work under general supervision.
    * Exercises independent judgment to a considerable extent.
    *  Makes decisions within the guidelines set by the Site IT Manager.


Minimum Requirements:

    * The qualified candidate will have working knowledge of Windows environment (Win 7, 2000, XP, 98,) MS office products, e-mail, and networked PC's.
    * Will also have a basic to advanced knowledge of Network environment (connectivity, e-mail, etc.). Dell Desktop and laptop hardware troubleshooting as well as printing troubleshooting.
    * Responsible for providing troubleshooting on remote desktops, and laptop systems using network tools.
    * Responsible for the maintenance and tracking of IT issues.
    * Responsible for virus protection of HA systems.
    * Experience: Two years relevant experience in companies of comparable size and organizational complexity.
    * May substitute an additional four years of relevant experience for the required degree.
    * Knowledge:  Technical knowledge of computer equipment operation, testing, and maintenance.
    * Technical knowledge of data network systems.
    * Technical knowledge of software installation, upgrading, and support.
    * Technical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
    * Technical knowledge of computer deployments and system imaging.
    * Skilled in customer support.
    * Skilled in oral and written communication tools and techniques
    * Must work harmoniously with staff, fellow employees and user community.
    * Education/Certification:  Associate degree in Computer Science or related field.
    * Eligibility Requirement:  Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
    * Requires lifting 25 lbs.
    * Requires 5% travel to support customers.

    * Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.  Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, heel straps, and shop coats
