Responsible for design, coordination, and documentation of jet engine fuel flowmeter test projects under the guidance of a technical lead.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Designs tests to verify product performance and DO-160 environmental capabilities including: test article preparation, equipment setup, data acquisition system programming and conducting tests. Documents the test equipment design package consisting of written description, detailed wiring and hydraulic schematics, pictures, component lists and software documentation, such that set-ups can be accurately reconstructed Writes detailed and indisputable operating procedures, testing procedures, and test reports. Creates and maintains test schedules.

Essential Job Functions:

    * Active member of a new product development team and provides design-for-testability input to new product designs.
    * Determine, define, and document equipment specifications and test requirements that satisfy customer verification and validation requirements.
    * Create test plans and procedures for design verification, qualification and production testing that best demonstrates compliance to customer and airworthiness agency requirements.
    * Perform design of test fixtures and test systems for design verification, qualification and production testing of new products.
    * Supervise testing which includes compliance to the procedure, maintaining schedules and controlling costs.
    * Ensure that tests are properly documented and prepare test reports.
    * Maintain product functional and acceptance test procedures for manufacturing test.
    * Lead efforts to solve production line test equipment problems and upgrade projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hardware test engineering, preferably in an aerospace related product field.

Knowledge: Design and test of electro-mechanical devices. Hydraulic system design. Verification and validation methods to qualify products for field use. Instrumentation techniques for test systems (temperature, flow and pressure sensors). Equipment calibration. Vibration test methods and fixtures.

    * Skills: Mechanical design/drafting utilizing CAD 3-D solid modeling tools (Pro/Engineer preferred). Hydraulics and Electronics design using schematic capture tools such as Visio. Control and data acquisition programming (Labview preferred). Proficiency in office tools such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Accomplished at writing operating procedures, test procedures and test reports that demonstrate compliance to customer requirements.
    * Ability: Demonstrated ability to coordinate several projects and engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedule commitments. Work independently under minimal supervision and guidance to perform tasks of substantial complexity and to be capable of leading and coordinating the efforts of junior engineers.
    * Education/Certification: - BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
    * Eligibility Requirement: Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, heal straps, and shop coats.
