Assistant General Manager
Redhook Brewing has an immediate opening for an Assistant General Manager at the Forecaster’s Pub.
After outgrowing our previous breweries in the Ballard and Fremont neighborhoods, Redhook completed in 1994, a state of the art brewery located in the heart of scenic Woodinville, WA. The brewery is home to the Forecasters Public House, where you can indulge in the finest Redhook beers and pub-style meals. The beautiful facility features expansive grounds which are home to many events and festivities year around.
This position will be responsible for assisting the Pub General Manager with the leadership and management of the facility on a daily basis. This includes, overseeing and directing other managers and supervisors, staffing levels, training, cost control, service standards, operational procedures and policies, guest relations, sanitation, environment control, cash handling, staff motivation, safety, and security.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Maximizes daily sales and profits by teaching, coaching, and upholding sales and service techniques to ensure a great guest experience
Effectively manage labor, beer and cash control
Communicates with the Pub General Manager as to the inventory levels of product, small wares, paper products, etc. necessary to provide an excellent experience for our guests,
Responsible for managing the opening, running, and closing duties for FOH when Manager is not on duty
Manage daily operations: staffing (FOH), scheduling (FOH), promotional efforts, repair and maintenance, cleanliness, organization, service timing, quality product, etc.
Manage organization and cleanliness of FOH, no visible dust, dirt, or grime
Maintain safety and sanitation standards
Maintain cleanliness and inventory levels of retail store
Responsible for all aspects of guest relations and the quality of experience delivered to the guest. i.e. Product, timing, service, etc.
Ensures the highest level of quality
Empowers staff to deliver highest standard of service
Handles any guest relations issues appropriately and in a timely manner
Takes an active part in the retention of staff
Ensure that a pre- shift meeting is held before each shift
Demonstrate a leadership style that creates a positive working environment
Clearly communicate priorities concerning pub readiness, the menu, and promotions through pre-shift meetings
In coordination with the Pub General Manager, manages and makes decisions in all areas of the FOH
Creates a positive working environment
Foster the behavior, conditions, and environment that yield improved performance
Utilize employees’ abilities effectively to achieve results
Effectively communicates goals and objectives
Properly communicates expectations to staff
Keeps Pub General Manager promptly and fully informed of all significant issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events)
Delegates according to individual’s knowledge, abilities, skill and outlook
Emphasize the importance of Redhook beer knowledge to service staff
Enforce the beer sampling to the guests by the service staff on a daily basis
Open and willing to try different approaches to resolve issues
Performs all position responsibilities and performance objectives in a consistent, timely and effective manner in accordance with established company and department specific policies and procedures
Support management decisions and direction
Maintains an outstanding working relationship with all team members and management
At all times provides a favorable image of Redhook in order to foster and enhance public recognition
3-5 Years full-service restaurant management experience
Must currently be an AGM or have had previous successful AGM (or GM) experience in a corporate restaurant environment
Must have prior experience as a Bar Manager or Beverage Director in a corporate restaurant or hotel environment
Have an appreciation and knowledge of craft beer
Possess excellent interpersonal skills in addition to having well-developed organization and analytical skills
Be flexible with work schedules and demonstrate a strong work ethic as well as a desire to have fun
Have passion for guest service excellence and a commitment to high quality delivery of food, beverages and ambiance
