Marine Georise Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
MARINE GEORISE is a two-year development program that offers intensive technical & professional exposure for new graduates with a Masters degree in Engineering and/or an Engineering degree with one to five years’ experience.
You’re an Engineer specialized in Geophysics, Mechanic, Electronic, Navigation, Maritime or R&D.
As a Marine Georise Engineer, you will work for one of our technical expertise division and you will spend 18 months in a training program that includes a rotation period in various duty stations on vessels and an office period to learn our business and familiarize yourself with CGGVeritas working methods. This extended training period will allow you to assume your responsibilities and progress within CGGVeritas.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
After an intensive three-month training period, you will follow a 15-month rotation plan:
· Five weeks trips periodes & operational projects at the office
· Two to four discovery trips in our operational departments: Navigation, Recording, Mechanic, Geosciences, Maritime (bridge & engine room), Land & shallow water survey...
· Two additional trips in the department that corresponds to your technical specialty.
After this exhaustive training & operational program, you will fully integrate your department of expertise in one of our main offices (Massy, Bergen, Houston or Singapore).
Main Activities
In the context of offshore seismic surveys, you will work in some of the following domains:
· Navigation
Participate in real-time positioning of the vessel and calculation of final coordinates of emitting and receiving devices.
You will monitor all aspects of the positioning and recording of navigation data as well as the quality of this data.
· Recording
Participate in all Recording department operations, including streamer-related operations and tools for monitoring the source devices.
You will monitor and record data of excellent quality in accordance with contractual specifications.
· Mechanics
Contribute to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment aboard, source devices, and the head rigging for streamers (buoys, floats, diverging paravanes, tow cables etc.).
· Geosciences
Contribute to the creation of acquisition quality control products and processing of seismic data. You will participate in running processing tests on the production sequence and assist during specific quality control or data processing tests.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
You are new graduate with a Master’s degree in Engineering or you have already acquired your degree in Engineering and completed one to five years work experience in the field.
The job requires autonomy, rigor, and good communication skills with different experts (from offshore crew members to experienced technical support and equipment specialists).
Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
Experience in the marine offshore and/or an international environment is a plus.
You will report to the Manager of your hiring department and work closely with onboard department groups.
