SECTION I - Summary of Job Responsibilities
A Retirement Services Officer is responsible for supporting all aspects of day to day account administration (including: account set up; client communication, interaction with attorneys, CPAs, TPAs; coordinating asset management; receipt/disbursement of funds; record keeping functions; including valuation preparationand compliance testing; account retention; and knowledge of laws and regulations) with minimal supervision. This position assists with the supervision and training of non-officers and staff, and provides support/back up when the Retirement Services Manager is unavailable.
SECTION II - Routine Daily Job Duties
X Continual focus on client retention
X Provides pro-active client service and adheres to CTICs Level of Service Guidelines.
X Maintains technical knowledge, keeping informed of new developments.
X Advises clients concerning plan design and administration.
X Oversees all account opening and closing processes.
X Monitors and ensures compliance with regulations and reporting deadlines.
X Assists with accurate and timely delivery of internal/external reports/statements.
X Assists with accurate and timely delivery of retirement services including recordkeeping.
X Participates actively in the Retirement Services Administrative Committee.
X Assists with compiling information for auditors/examiners.
X Responds to inquiries/requests from clients, participants and professionals.
X Researches and resolves client issues, constantly developing practices to improve product.
X Researches and corrects administrative errors and account issues.
X Participates in development of new business by referrals, production of proposal materials and assisting CTICs New Business Officers.
X Completes special projects as assigned.
SECTION III - Job Requirements
X Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
X Minimum of 3 to 5 years of retirement plan processing, preparation of plan valuations, testing and Form 5500's.
X Proficiency with PC, including Word & Excel.
X Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
X Excellent analytical skills and constant attention to detail.
X Excellent organizational skills.
X Good personal management skills.
X Client service oriented with ability to interact professionally with all levels of
contacts often in stressful situations.
