Corporate Accountant

Position Summary

The Corporate Accountant performs accounting and support functions for the corporate and public entities. This position requires close coordination with corporate and regional office personnel, accounts receivable, accounts payable, property accounting, cash management and the accounting / systems group.



·         Prepare and process monthly journal entries.

·         Produce Reit Management & Research LLC (“RMR”) and Affiliates Insurance Company (“AIC”) monthly and/or quarterly financial statements and workpapers.

·         Assist in calculating and posting monthly management fees and construction management fees across all properties.

·         Maintain all RMR fixed assets on WinFas.

·         Perform various reconciliations, i.e. bank accounts, investments, prepaid expenses, intercompany accounts, revenue, etc.

·         Process and maintain balance sheet and income statement accounts.

·         Compile and analyze financial information.

·         Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

·         Assist in the allocation of expenses across various properties or entities.

·         Work with the cash department and lend support as needed.

·         Perform special projects as needed.



·         Minimum 1 year general accounting experience required.

·         Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Yardi (preferred).

·         Demonstrate knowledge of accounting practices and procedures with ability to research and recommend appropriate treatments.

·         Ability to proactively communicate and work effectively with internal customers, other accounting staff members and external vendors.

·         Attention to detail, problem solving and trouble shooting skills are essential.
