Account Executive


This Account Executive is responsible for selling Commercial Card Services to targeted companies in designated sales territories. These companies will typically have no established relationship with Commerce Bank prior to contact. The products being sold are Corporate Cards (T&E), Purchasing Cards and our Accounts Payable Payment Solution. To achieve the objectives of this job, the incumbent will initiate the use of various prospecting methods including cold calling, leveraging internal and external referrals, as well as through networking groups. In addition to prospecting, the incumbent must employ effective listening, problem solving, presentation, sales, negotiation, closing and relationship management techniques to obtain assigned sales goals. This individual will be responsible for selling our Commercial Card products in San Antonio and Austin.
Education / Experience
Education:     College Degree Preferred
Experience:     Minimum of 5 years of sales experience. Excellent oral and written presentation skills. Strong telephone skills, ability to source own leads and set own appointments, follow-up, interpersonal skills, and PC skills. Experienced in “solution selling”, having the ability to work with clients by identifying company goals and initiatives and move the sale through the sales cycle to close. Must have experience working with C-level decision makers and negotiating pricing and contracts. Detail-oriented and can incorporate complex program and technical implementations. Knowledge of sales process, operational functions, implementation process, business development, presentation skills, preparing customers requests for proposal and strong customer contact. Identify and sell additional users and functions of the Commercial Cards.
