Purpose and Summary of position:


Assist the Market Development Manager in the development and execution of the Automotive Powertrain/Chassis strategy

- Lead the application development efforts within the Powertrain/Chassis

- Identify and secure new customer application development projects with the appropriate Automotive Tier 1's and OEM's,utilizing Ticona's portfolio of materials.

- Work closely with Ticona's Account Development Managers and OEM Managers to ensure coordination and success.

- Based out of Ticona'a Auburn Hills, MI facility with customer interaction primarily in the Detroit Metropolitan area.

- Position requires travel (~50%), mostly metro Detroit area.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


B.S. Degree in Engineering

5+ years of Automotive application development experience within engineering thermoplastics, Tier 1, or OEM community

Strong knowledge of the Automotive development and specification process

Good written, verbal, interpersonal, and organization skills

Results oriented, self motivated, and energetic person with a good cultural awareness


Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


Experience in Application Development

Established relationships and contacts within the industry

Active membership with SAE/SPE and sub-committee

Knowledge/Experience in Program Management

Hands on experience in plastic part design, problem solving, FEA analysis

Computer proficient
