Mechanical Engineer

Purpose and Summary of position:

To improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of plant assets through the application of Engineering expertise in providing effective, solutions to reliability and maintenance issues as dedicated support to site project work.

             Own and administer the Plant Mechanical Integrity Programs, including evaluating condition of equipment to predict life, needed maintenance intervals, identify bad actors and develop mitigating strategies

             Work in a team atmosphere with various functional roles in the routine and non-routine repair of plant assets

             Perform root cause analysis of failed components, implement repair strategies and track results

             Perform technical review of systems designs and modifications

             Provide direction and evaluation for non-replacement in kind tasks

             Manage small projects related to plant reliability improvements

             Lead Technical Design and review of projects, conforming to Applicable Codes and Standards

             Provide technical expertise to Operations, Maintenance, and other technical personnel

             Develop Predictive and Preventative Maintenance strategies for equipment
Qualifications:

Required knowledg, skills, abilities:

             Working Knowledge of manufacturing plant processes and experience in Reliability Engineering

             Knowledge of SIS system fundamentals

             Ability to Multitask and Handle Multiple Simultaneous Assignments

             Ability to Work as Self Directed Individual or in a team based environment

             Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills

             Strong Computer Skills including Microsoft Office

             Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and their administration.

Desired knowledge, skills, abilities:

•             Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices such as cost control, estimating, scheduling programs (MS Project or Primavera), and forecasting

•             Able to plan and organize projects from inception to start up

•             Knowledge of chemical or refinery facilities and integration of project work in these facilities

•             Strong safety champion who will lead the project in achieving zero incidents and injuries

•             Self-motivated with ability to originate and adapt to new ideas

•             Able to handle multiple activities simutaneously

•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•             Working Knowledge of SAP

•             Experience in Six Sigma methodology or equivalent continuous improvement processes

•             Experience in radar level detection devices
