Sales Engineer

Support new sales prospecting and increased revenue activity

    * Help market sales teams achieve and exceed sales revenue targets, especially driving complex data and Cloud Services solutions.
    * Provide frequent pre-sales support via field coverage and phone support on Cbeyond Cloud Services, Hosted PBX, MPLS, Web Hosting, Mobile failover/backup, and other managed voice and data services.
    * Cover multiple qualified sales appointments daily by own transportation and/or conference in local region.
    * Lead market in solution-selling efforts that match the most appropriate Cbeyond solutions and applications to each prospective customers’ business and productivity needs
    * Assist Solutions Advisor and channel sales teams in meeting and exceeding sales and revenue targets
    * Deliver regular technical training to Branch sales and sales support staff as required
    * Assist VPGM in providing sales leadership and mentoring to sales staff in technology sales strategies
    * Document sales activity coverage activity using sales automation tools
    * Provide regular reports and updates to Sales & Sales Operations executives, meet tight deadlines and handle multiple high-revenue projects at one time.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    * Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science degree at accredited 4-year college
    * Minimum of 4-5 years experience in competitive managed Communications and broadband services industries; to include experience with CLEC, ISP, Mobile service, Cloud services and/or collocation providers
    * Minimum 2-3 years experience in a sales engineering role in a high-activity sales branch with emphasis on SMB market. Cisco or Microsoft Technology certifications preferred.
    * 2-3 years experience selling services and qualifying requirements for Windows OS Servers, common SMB application software, as it relates to cloud-based server management is preferred.
    * 2-3 years experience selling and providing concept-to-install MPLS solutions, with sound technical understanding of routers, switches, TCP/IP and OSI layer model in business applications.
    * Strong understanding of voice services, phone systems, (KEY and PBX), voice termination interfaces (analog, digital, PRI), and varying types of customer provided equipment (CPE) is highly desired.
    * Solid competitive and industry knowledge of VoIP services, specifically Hosted PBX and SIP trunking, QoS, and the technical requirements in deploying VoIP in new single and multiple location operations
    * Ability to work independently, while demonstrating sound prioritization and judgment skills based on the business needs is essential
