Manager Sales

Primary focus is pre-sales support and sales support process optimization for all sales channels.  Responsibilities include managing (and as an individual contributor) providing support on Special Pricing, Promotion Management, Product Expertise to the sales teams, Special Assembly coordination & Competitive Data Collection, Managing Escalations, Order Form updates, act as SME for quote to order automation project & managing the sales tracker.

The candidate will be a demonstrated high achiever with strong organization and analytical skills; goal oriented and must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial dynamic environment. The individual should have demonstrated initiative, a positive, team-oriented outlook, must be very effective working across functional boundaries, possess experience regularly interacting with Sales Management and Operational management teams, and possess a high energy level.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

    * Manage special pricing desk function effectively and ensure margin analysis accuracy to onboard new sales profitably; collaborate with product teams to ensure accurate outputs.
    * Develop, document and manage processes to:
          o Collect, organize and manage competitive data for multiple stake holders
          o Collect, organize and manage lost sales data for special priced offers made but lost
          o Provide product expertise on complex, multi location and large revenue sales.
          o Coordinate non-standard special assembly requests such as DS3 orders through the impacted organizations
          o Deliver addendums on new customer sales
          o Coordinate special pricing execution with the branch operations team to ensure correct billing for customers.
          o Provide support for RFPs for more complex sales
    * Manage promotion allocations to the branches, coordinate promotion distribution to sales reps for sales offers, ensure compliance with internal audit and SOX guidelines, complete any required month end reconciliations.  Provide sales Mgt with regular updates & reporting on remaining unused allocations and promotion utilization.
    * Proactively communicate formally and informally with sales leadership on promotion updates, changes, special offers, exception guidelines; Create and maintain a decision matrix for assisting in communicating promo, addendum, discounting guidelines.
    * Document & Institute Market Response best practices to exceed branch and corporate objectives
    * Drive efficiencies and improvements through process and systems / tools enhancements to increase productivity of the team, including representation in strategic company initiatives such as ”quote to order”.
    * Develop talent on the team.  Promote personal skill development for the Market Response Team members to achieve higher performance and career progression.  Pursue team development to include role definition, coaching, etc to achieve optimum performance.
    * Demonstrate adherence to Cbeyond’s Leadership model.
    * Develop long term roadmap for the team to evolve to support strategic business initiatives.


    * Advanced verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.
    * Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects/tasks to completion with limited supervision.
    * Excellent proven problem solving skills, resourceful and effective in making decisions with strong attention to details
    * Highly refined analytical and human relations skills.
    * Ability to assist sales reps with conference calls with potential clients to provide subject matter expertise to help close the deal.
    * Must be self-motivated with a good work ethic, and have demonstrated the discipline to work independently.
    * Excel spreadsheet skills required.
    * Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
