Facility Engineer
Description
As a Facility Engineer 1 at Caterpillar you will work independently and as part of a team to analyze and recommend systems, procedures, training and equipment needs based on customer requirements. In addition, you will also validate new equipment against industrial equipment specifications and recommend modifications or revisions.
Facility Engineers perform the following duties:
* Coordinate equipment maintenance and systems integration;
* Prepares documentation and leads compliance to a planned maintenance program;
* Investigates maintenance-related issues and recommends solutions;
* Revises system software where possible to prevent downtime;
* Troubleshoots machining and equipment to prevent downtime;
* Assures systems compatibility for control equipment;
* Determines building requirements including utilities, water, sewer, electrical, hazardous material requirements, etc.;
* Assists in the design of building changes;
* Verifies equipment and systems effectiveness and recommends revision or purchase of new equipment;
* Ensures proper placement of service material and equipment;
* Manages / leads maintenance resources performing maintenance and repairs; and
* Manage / lead new facility improvement projects.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* ABET accredited Engineering or Engineering Technology degree;
* Previous experience in equipment diagnostics, systems integration and maintenance coordination; and
* Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Desired Qualifications:
The following criteria will be beneficial but not required:
* Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment; and
* Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
