Electrical Engineer

General job duties:
This position supports the Drilling Control systems engineering department.
Develop drawings, bills of material and selection of new components in support of construction of drilling control system equipment. This primarily involves the application of high pressure hydraulic components.
Work within an engineering department in a team environment to supply needed documentation and interface with manufacturing in order to meet customer delivery requirements.
Meet with customers as needed to establish project requirements and resolve project issues throughout the project life cycle.
Participate in shop equipment testing and occasionally travel to equipment final testing locations to support completion.
Supervise and coordinate with other engineering personnel and design/drafting activities to achieve project completion.
Job involves primary work within an office environment and occasional exposure to the manufacturing work area and occasional travel. Travel is not anticipated to be greater than 5% of work time.
Job Requirements/ Qualifications    Graduate mechanical engineer, other qualified B.S. degree or additional years of applicable job experience to qualify.
In depth knowledge of hydraulic controls and applications pertaining to equipment selection and creating hydraulic flow diagrams (circuits).
Skill in using Microsoft Word and Excel. Skill in AutoCad as appropriate for an engineer. Inventor skill is a plus.
An added plus would be the ability to perform flow calculations as would pertain to response times and flow rates through various hydraulic circuits.
Experience with engineering design for Drilling Control Systems or Production Control Systems preferred.
Knowledge of troubleshooting hydraulic circuits and resolution of design issues.
Able to coordinate multiple tasks and supervise design and drafting personnel as needed.
Knowledge concerning skid mounted power units and control skids.
Ability to perform any needed calculations for strength of materials pertaining to work within subsea Drilling Control systems and associated skid mounted equipment.
Ability to travel as needed.
Minimum Years Experience: 4
