Bus Greeter

Job Description:

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Marketing Supervisor, responsible for greeting all buses and/or day trips groups; issuing itineraries and packets; and informing guests of accommodations, procedures, and current promotions, if applicable.


Essential Job Functions:

    * Provides excellent guest service.
    * Ensure the operation of group arrivals and departures.  
    * Welcomes all groups arriving to Horseshoe Casino, reviews group’s itinerary, and answers questions.
    * Ensures all Group Sales packets (food vouchers, free slot play vouchers, buffet tickets etc.) are organized and ready to be distributed to guests upon their arrival.
    * Accurately imports information into date specific spreadsheets.
    * Assists in gathering bus patrons; locates all group members in a timely manner.
    * Verifies that manifests are printed promptly and accurately tracked on appropriate spreadsheets.
    * Tracks players in APS.
    * Issues Total Rewards Cards to new members
    * Assist Total Rewards with reprinting cards for individuals on bus groups

·         Effectively and enthusiastically communicates the benefits of the customer loyalty program and provides players with a compelling reason to play at Horseshoe every time.

·         Cross sells property events (shows, promotions, etc.) and amenities (hotels, restaurants, etc.).

    * Ensures the safety of the passengers while unloading and loading the buses.
    * Prepare any/all paperwork needed for the following day’s operation.
    * Keep ample stock of all buffet tickets, free slot play and food vouchers to maintain adequate inventory.
    * Accurately complete group passenger verification forms.
    * Follow procedures for issuance of all food and  free slot play vouchers
    * Knowledgeable of entire property to accurately assist guests.
    * Well versed on all promotions and events.
    * Assists with the execution of all property promotions and special events, as needed.
    * Other duties as assigned by the supervisory/management team.



    * Literate and fluent in English.  Must be able to converse in English with guests, give clear directions, and be familiar with area events and attractions.
    * Must have the proven ability to provide courteous, friendly and efficient service.  .
    * Ability to maintain composure and excellent guest elations under all circumstances Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays
    * Basic Computer skills (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, etc.)
    * Able to type 35 words per minute
    * Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
    * Taking direction from multiple Leads/Supervisors/Managers from multiple areas
    * Maintain upbeat and positive attitude across multiple tasks and environments
    * Ability to multi-task
    * Must be able to work and quickly maneuver inside and outside.  Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including temperatures in excess of 100 degrees and as cold as 20 degrees.
    * Must be able to work independently.
    * Must be able to stoop, bend, and lift objects that weigh up to 100 pounds.
    * Must be able to push and/or pull heavy rolling loads in excess of 300 pounds.
    * Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
    * Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Horseshoe and encourages others to do the same.
    * Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.


Education and Work Experience

    * High School diploma or GED equivalent.
    * A minimum of one-year customer service experience in a position where there is direct customer contact preferred.


Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:

    * Must be able to work independently.
    * Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
    * Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.

    * Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
    * Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
    * Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
    * Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
    * Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
    * Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
