Accounting/ Finance Manager

Basic Function Responsible for managing the general accounting the general accounting functions to ensure accuracy and integrity of the financial information that is maintained in the accounting system and supporting modules according to established policies and procedures; identify the need for change within the department specifically, and the overall business unit, creating the plan and processes to implement change, and effectively implementing identified changes; coordinate, prioritize, and participate in activities associated with completing assigned projects task. Major Job Accountabilities: Accounting Functions:‐ Manage the general accounting functions to ensure accuracy and integrity of the financial information that is maintained in the accounting system and supporting modules according to established policies and procedures Manage the preparation of various financial reports (e.g., Profit & Loss, Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, regulatory forms, etc.) Identify the need for change within the department specifically, and the overall business unit, creating the plan and processes to implement change, and effectively implementing identified changes. Manage the monthly financial discussion and analysis with internal management and stakeholders. Review accounting processing and statement processing to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness. Identify ways to improve accounting systems processes and reduce costs within the department. Ensuring accuracy of data provided to make recommendations and analysis. Employee and personal leadership development: Coach, develop and mentor subordinates to achieve quality performance while continuing to develop personal. Management skill necessary to lead staff and handle unique management challenges. Promote employee development by establishing performance measures that encourage employees to excel. Continually assess personal management skills determining strengths and developing a plan to address areas for growth. Participating in the development of strategies to find optimal solutions to compensate, attract, and retain the talent necessary to achieve established goals and objectives. Review appraisal status reports ensuring staff is held accountable for timely and quality appraisals. Assist staff with establishing and attaining career development goals. Ensure that employee training is effectively conducted for all positions throughout assigned area of responsibility. Conduct formal appraisal and performance reviews. Review and recommend suggestions to management when updates to job descriptions are required as responsibilities change. Project Coordination: Coordinate, prioritize, and participate in activities associated with completing assigned projects or project task Assign appropriate staff to complete project task Update project plan as necessary Monitor progress of task Provide management with status reports detailing status and timelines Follow all steps to close project Team Interfaces/ Customer Services: Establish and maintain professional relationship with internal/ external customers, team members and department contacts. Cooperate with team members to meet goal or complete tasks Provide customer service that exceeds customer expectations Treat all internal/ external customers team members and department contacts with dignity/ respect. Escalate work flow and communication issues to supervisor. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, accounting, finance, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements. Experience: Minimum 3 years of increasingly responsible GL, accounting, accounts payable or related experience required. Minimum 1 year supervisory or lead experience required. Strong background in India taxation. Suitable relevant in a large multinational organization Ability to demonstrate up to date technical knowledge through relevant CPD Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley and US GAAP would be an advantage. Other Basic knowledge of MS word, excel and PowerPoint required
