Masters of Educational Administration

A Master of Education in Educational Administration is an advanced degree program for individuals who want to progress their careers in school administration and supervision at K-12 schools. Completion of a master's degree program may lead to careers as a principal in public and private schools, as well as administrators in non-school settings. Most programs offer students information in educational frameworks, as well as practical training, allowing students to understand how to meet demands as educational leaders. Students develop an understanding of organizational techniques for coordinating instruction, staff and students within a school setting. Educational administration programs commonly require students to participate in practicum, fieldwork or internship experiences where students gain hands-on knowledge of administrative duties. Many programs also require students complete comprehensive examinations before graduation. The master's degree program typically offers supervision, administrator or principal endorsements.
