Sales Engineer

Job description:
The role will work closely with Sales Account Executives – both Corporate and Enterprise - on new and existing accounts. Ideal candidates have previous experience working with data consulting, systems integration or CRM or related applications in a customer facing role, and have the ability to effectively communicate the value of Data.com’s solutions (both functionally and technically) to prospective customers. This includes the ability to uncover business requirements, develop a technical strategy, and create and effectively demonstrate solutions that address customer requirements. This role works in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and candidates should be able to successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment.

Responsibilities:

    * Understand customer goals and challenges and establish Data.com’s product as the best solution available
    * Build and present customized demonstrations
    * Present Data.com’s data, services and CRM integrations technology infrastructure, including demonstrating familiarity Marketing Automation applications, CRM and data warehousing.
    * Participate in architecture of custom solutions around B2B data
    * Participate in all product, sales, process training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective
    * Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management
    * Respond effectively to RFPs
    * Travel domestically

Required Skills/Experience:

    * Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems in varied political environments
    * Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
    * Proven time management skills in a dynamic services environment
    * Knowledge of related applications, relational databases, cloud and web technology
    * Basic programming experience in HTML, Java, XML  and other web based technologies a plus
    * Solid data experience:  MDM, data quality, data architecture a plus
    * B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, MBA, or equivalent work experience
    * Minimum of 5 years progressive work experience.
    * Previous experience as a sales engineer, technical pre-sales or consulting

Desired Skills:

    * Experience with CRM sales or consulting
    * Experience with Data Warehouse or consulting
    * Experience with enterprise application platforms
