National Sales Manager

Responsibilities:

    * Recruit, Lead, develop and retain a world class sales organization.
    * Develop and manage superior customer relationships.
    * Develop objectives for each of the Sales Executives in the region.
    * Work with other functional groups to develop strategies and tactics that ensure success.
    * Develop an annual sales plan for the market to meet identified goals.
    * Work with each of the Sales Executives so that they can develop plans for their respective territories.
    * Review the results with each Sales Executive on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.  Work with each person and organization to modify their plans accordingly so that they can meet agreed upon objectives and forecasts.
    * Review the organization’s results on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and discuss with the VP, US Sales. Modify plans and strategies accordingly so that agreed upon objectives can be met.
    * Work with each Sales Executive, Distributor, Marketing, Corporate Accounts, Service, Clinical Education, Finance and Departments supporting their activities to develop sales strategies for key accounts, large sales objectives and major competitors.
    * Provide the leadership, and motivation necessary for the Sales Executives and distributors to meet their own and the national organization’s objectives.
    * Assist in developing and implementing sales ventures/projects as required by senior management.
    * Develop proficiency in clinical/technical knowledge, applications, strategic and tactical sales skill and competitive product knowledge for the Cardiology products, at the expert level.  Attend product training to develop expertise in the Spacelabs Healthcare and Cardiology product offerings.
    * Provide for the training and development of each Sales Executive.  Evaluate their needs, set joint objectives and develop a plan to provide the training and coaching required.
    * Operate within the approved expense budget for the fiscal year.
    * Routinely update the CRM sales tool as required and direct the Sales Executives in utilization, requirements, and compliance of sales automation applications.
    * Communicate to employees the responsibilities of conducting themselves in a professional manner as company representatives and the importance of maintenance and protection of Company assets.
    * Recommend changes in the Sales Force to the VP, NA Sales & Marketing in number of disposition, promotion, termination and salary adjustments, as necessary, to meet goals.
    * Recommend developments or updates of policies and procedures to VP, US NA Sales & Marketing, as required.
    * Develop the sales force to communicate and to be aware of market and competition activities, business conditions and new product needs.
    * Achieve the goal of demo inventory turnover once every six months or as directed by sales management.  You should not have any inventory over 12 months aging. Demo inventory must be completely reconciled annually with no losses.
    * Attend and assign necessary sales force personnel to attend trade shows and conferences, communicating specific objectives of their attendance.
    * Build and maintain professional relationships with key customers.
    * Submit accurate and timely reports regarding expenses, MBR, activities, results, market position, and forecasts.
    * Utilize company e-mail, Quote Configurator, and CRM according to all established policies, procedures, and requirements.
    * Assist senior management with special projects and all other assignments as required.
    * Observe all applicable company safety policies and practices.
    * Use safe and defensive driving techniques and attend defensive driving as required.
    * Ensure that the Sales Executives maintain demo inventory in salable condition, including proper storage, movement and record keeping.  Inventory should be sold after six months or as directed by management.
    * Ensure that company vehicle is clean and regularly maintained at all times consistent with Fleet requirements.
    * Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

    * MBA or BA/BS in Business Administration or Marketing.
    * A minimum of 7 years of field sales management experience in medical capital equipment sales, or the equivalent. Cardiology products preferred.
    * Demonstrated success in achievement of sales and marketing objectives.
    * Documented, successful  sales management experience
    * Track record of progressive career growth and success
    * Demonstrated passion for excellence, and proven success delivering to sales/revenue/profit goals
    * Entrepreneurial, highly motivated, leadership style with a focused and disciplined approach to the sales process
    * Strategic thinker, innovative, with proven success developing strong sales teams.
    * Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and a proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    * Proven success establishing and nurturing productive relationships with subordinates, peers, and executive management as well as key customers.
    * The ideal candidate readily engages with people, builds strong teams, is cross-functionally oriented and works hard to understand and meet customer needs.
    * A minimum of 70% travel is required.
    * Ability to communicate at all levels of an organization effectively.
    * Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across business functions.
