THIS ROLE CAN BE BASED IN ANY COUNTRY WITHIN EUROPE APART FROM SWITZERLAND.
Set up and manage cross divisional category sourcing projects to deliver maximum value to the Functional owners of the spend category. Drive overall organizational productivity agenda.
1.Develop and own global x-divisional category strategy
•Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies which address all spend levers and are in alignment with the relevant Divisional and Functional business objectives.
•Develop and maintain category Strategic Plans
•Assemble and manage category relevant networks at regions and CPO level
2.Set up and conduct projects within the assigned spend category(s) which maximise the value and efficiency of the spend on behalf of the Novartis Divisional and Functional owner(s). Project activities will include:
•Creating full spend transparency for the category.
•Demonstrating value creation and spend efficiency improvement in the category through creation and application of relevant spend baselines, KPIs and metrics.
•Assessing opportunities for continuous improvement of category spend efficiency based on industry best practices and benchmarks.
•Applying e-sourcing technologies and Low Cost Country Sourcing as an integral part of the category sourcing strategy.
•Planning and running the projects according to the expectations of the Functional Stakeholders.
•Managing key contracts and supplier relationships as appropriate.
3.Set-up, lead and manage cross divisional and cross functional category projects by:
•Determining the team structure and resource requirements necessary to develop and implement the category sourcing strategy(s).
•Assembling the project team by securing resource involvement and funding as required.
•Leading the project team though strategy development and implementation planning including embedding the sourcing strategies in the Functions.
•Monitor roll out of project against timelines, deliverables and KPIs
•Develop tracking tools and processes to measure project objectives achievement
4.Manage Stakeholders through:
•Aligning Sourcing objectives with business objectives and ensuring cascade
•Determining and securing an effective Governance structure for the projects.
•Keeping Stakeholders informed of progress and involving them in issue resolution as appropriate.
•Managing expectations of X-Divisional Stakeholders.
5.Ensure that the Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management processes are followed as a key business process and mobilize the business to ensure that Global Sourcing is perceived as value adding business partner.
Minimum requirements Degree (minimum), MBA (desirable)
English (minimum), other European languages (desirable), exposure to Low Cost Countries (desirable),
Success record track in similar type of role.
10 years experience in strategic sourcing. Experience on CPO level as local Category Manager and/or Head of Sourcing desirable, Robust understanding of Category Management and Change Management.
Practical and action oriented mindset. Strong influencer with strong self discipline. Direct Pharmaceutical or specific Functional experience (desirable)
