Accounts Payable

The Accounts Payable - Transaction Manager, Issue Resolution position is located in the North America Finance Service Center located in Fort Worth, Texas, with anticipated start date of November 2012.

Role Description
This position is responsible for managing and driving continuously improvements in AP transactional onshore/offshore (Genpact) operations. In addition, this role will support local/global projects.

Major Accountabilities
• Act as a technical and operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AP policy, processes, and systems for one or more business units. Manage controls and/or segregation of duties in processes and systems.
• Responsible for transactional activities such as AP processing, Goods Receipts/Invoice Receipts reconciliation, scanning, issue resolution, etc.
• Actively manage Novartis’ primary Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) offshore supplier, as well as all other 3rd party supplier relationships that support AP processes and systems. Ensure appropriate reporting and metrics are in place to provide transparency to operational efficiency and effectiveness with all 3rd party suppliers.
• Must be able to proactively challenge the Status Quo, taking calculated risks and making fact based recommendations. Must have a high level of comfort with change.
• Demonstrate experience in project management/team management
• Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Foster an environment of team work, customer service, communication, approachability and empowerment
Minimum requirements    Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Highly Preferred

Experience:
4-6 years of work experience
• Previous management role in Finance/AP functions
• Demonstrated success of managing Financial BPO (offshore) employees; work/cultural experience with India-based operations desired
• Previous experience dealing with internal and external auditors
• Experience with creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and control matrices
• Experience with analysis, problem solving, and project management
• Experience with Ariba/SAP/BW systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback
• Strong customer service or shared services organization experience
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous measureable process and system improvements and efficiencies
• Six Sigma project management experience desired
