Research & Development Tech
Responsible for conducting and interpreting experiments used for scientific research and developing new or improved diagnostic products. Performing the duties and responsibilities as outlined below. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
* Plan, conduct and interpret scientific experiments, seeking proper guidance from R&D management or others, as appropriate, in performing these tasks. Work with R&D management to plan the performance of these tasks such that the research or development project is efficiently accomplished.
* Properly document work in laboratory notebooks and project files. Prepare internal reports and memos and provide assistance to those preparing external reports.
* Tasks shall be completed with minimal supervision.
* Responsible for transferring information, technology and techniques to Production and Quality Control as needed. Assist in training as required with Production or Quality Control personnel in the transfer of technology.
* Assist in evaluating new reagents for transfer to Production or Quality Control.
* Assist in troubleshooting Production or Quality Control problems and assist with technical service questions when appropriate.
* Support assigned food safety products manufactured at this facility.
* Follow safety procedures and company policies.
* Properly use and maintain lab equipment.
* Assist Sales staff directly or indirectly in preparing technically related materials for release to customers.
Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required or one or more years of related experience.
