Mortgage Generalist
Job Description
The overall purpose of this position is to manage several processes that are important to the loan process. This employee will float from position to position when needed and as required by loan volume, coverage for vacation schedules, etc. The main function and start point for the position will be in the closing area with cross-training to take place in the areas of opening, underwriting and loan delivery.
1. Check files for accuracy before sending out to Title Company.
2. Follow-up on missing items/correction on closing files so closers can continue to work on the file.
3. Reviews HUD for accuracy prior to settlement. Forwards HUD to LO and processor within the required 24-hour before closing time frame.
4. Check for accuracy of the HUD, and if correct, submit the funding numbers to the Title Company. Send TIL and application to the Title Company after the HUD is approved. Run ARP Win to verify the TIL is within tolerance.
5. Open Loans- assist opener in preparing and sending out the opening disclosures. Prepare FedEx package for shipment to borrower and send file to processor.
6. Underwriting- copy files to be sent to investor, assist with mailing of appraisals to borrowers, overflow of declined and WD files. Review of insurance policies.
7. Loan Delivery- review of incoming files, scanning of loan documents in preparation for sale to investors. Also scan final documents and send to investors.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Two to Five years banking experience.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Excellent phone and communication skills.
* Good computer skills required.
