Training (IS&T) Manager

Description
 Meet and exceed our customers IS&T needs and demands, and to ensure profitable and safe operations. The Canrig IS&T business includes top drives, tubular handling equipment, draw works, powerhouses, drillers cabins and other Canrig capital equipment.
REQUIREMENTS

1. Safety – As defined by management the goals and objectives for the Service & Rentals business.
a. Take a proactive approach to promote behavioral safety in all activities. Coordinate as required with Canrig Safety Manager.
b. Make periodic and regular visits to the field to conduct inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with the Canrig Safety Management System.
2. OFS industry leader in service.
a. Deliver industry leading IS&T service as related to initial capital equipment installations.
b. Identify IS&T service delivery failures, perform RCRA’s and complete closed loop actions to prevent recurrence and improve service.
3. Grow IS&T revenue
4. Gross IS&T margin
a. Manage direct costs.
b. Provide monthly updated IS&T business P&L report.
5. Work with the Canrig District Managers, Product Line Managers & Specialists, and Field Service to improve field technician service delivery and performance, as related to the IS&T business.
6. Work with Canrig Sales & Marketing to secure IS&T agreements.
a. Hold monthly meetings to review IS&T schedules of activity levels and forecasts and past IS&T activity with Operational Management and Sales & Marketing Management.
b. Directly manage service failures or customer complaints, get in direct contact with the customer and the technicians to expeditiously work through the problem to best satisfy the customer’s needs and the needs of Canrig.
7. Work with Magnolia Manufacturing relative to applications and the production schedule.
a. Arrange hand over meetings with applications, to properly execute the IS&T business.
b. Open and regular communication with Magnolia Manufacturing and coordinating S&R’s various needs and schedules with those of Manufacturing’s (e.g. Production Schedule).
c. Ensure 100% of equipment is properly tested prior to leaving Magnolia.
d. Ensure all equipment has 100% of components and required rig-site spare parts prior to leaving Magnolia.
8. Assist in marketing, promoting, and selling Canrig’s IS&T business to drilling contractors and operators.


Qualifications
 

EXPERIENCE
Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience. Applicant must possess technical competence in the installation, supervision and training for Canrig capital equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to deal with all levels of personnel within the industry.
2. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
3. Strong working knowledge of Capital Equipment, related field technicians, and auxiliary components (e.g. engine / generator sets).
4. Strong working knowledge of global IS&T equipment market and related equipment.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical materials. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to present information to management effectively.
6. Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines.

Travel
Must be willing and able to travel to promote safety and manage the IS&T business.

Education And Training
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or other significant relevant industry education. Additional domain-specific training, prior industry experience and industry contacts are important.
