Electrical Engineer

Description
 The Electrical Engineering Manager provides support to the Engineering team and is responsible for supervising a team of Electrical Engineers, Technologists and Technicians. The Electrical Engineering Manager will provide leadership and assist with the resolution of technical matters related to the discipline for various projects. Other responsibilities are:

- Select, develop and lead the electrical engineering function to achieve planned objectives
- Assure high performance by ensuring that direct reports understand their work and their roles
- Provide technical input into the detailed scope of work and project execution plan when required
- Work with Project Management to allocate engineering resources in order to complete all deliverable within approved budget and schedule
- Arrange for the preparation of design deliverables including drawings, detailed drawings, schedules, BOM, specifications etc… in accordance with the project requirements
- Review the work of others to ensure consistency and integrity of design
- Recruit new team members, conducting performance reviews, performance management and facilitate training & development opportunities
- Monitor project progress and quality of work and provide coaching and mentoring to team members

Qualifications
 - Bachelor of Engineering with an Electrical and/or Automation designation. P.Eng is required.
- At least 7 years experience, previous experience in the Oil & Gas/Drilling equipment field is preferred.
- Progressive technical and project management experience including experience and training in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Experience in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment, drilling equipment experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge PLC Programming
- Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
- Ability to consistently resolve technical problems as they arise and make decisions on how problem resolution will impact the immediate problem and project as a whole
- Able to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
- Ability to work in a high workload environment with intense activity levels
- Recent experience in hands-on design, engineering and revamp work.
