Business Development Analyst
The Business Development Analyst (BDA) reports to the Business Development Manager and is part of a broader team, Contract Management and Strategic Alliances. The BDA supports the identification and analysis of new business opportunities, financial models, pricing, competitive landscape, and capture management. Additionally the BDA is responsible for monitoring passage of bills through the Texas legislature.
Responsibilities
• Monitors Texas State legislative process and tracks and reports on status of bills through the process
• Supports creation of revenue/expense models for new business opportunities
• Evaluates and reports project financial performance against budget
• Supports the identification, evaluation, pursuit, and capture of new business opportunities
• Employs strategic frameworks to thoroughly assess and report market conditions and trends within the competitive state and local G2G, G2C, and G2B space. Research and evaluates potential alliance partners, customers, competitors, products, and government regulations
• Research methods, technologies, approaches, and standards as required for business development opportunities
• Builds knowledge of NIC products and services in Texas and in other Portals
• Develops an understanding of Texas NICUSA governing contracts. Identifies process improvement opportunities that reduce risk, improve analysis, and reduce overall time to market
• Interacts effectively with NIC cross-functional teams, Marketing, Outreach, Contract Management
• Follows all business development processes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in a business analyst role preferred
• Legislative experience strongly preferred
• Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of financial statements
• Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
• Self-motivated
