Solution Manager

Are you ready to be an integral part of a team that will help define and deliver global Manufacturing & Supply Chain solutions for the Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB)? Are you a passionate, motivated and entrepreneurial individual ready to build strong relationships and manage delivery of new and innovative business capabilities through design, and release of IT system solutions for the supply chain that includes such products as Xbox, Games for Windows, PC Hardware and other hot products in the consumer entertainment industry?

IEB’s Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Information and Services (MSCIS) team is looking for a Senior Solution Manager. This person will have the leadership responsibility of driving supply chain management, with a specific focus on finance solutions for the XBOX supply chain. You will work closely with many disciplines across Microsoft’s Information Solutions to enable future growth and global expansion of Microsoft’s supply chain.

As a senior member of our Solution Manager team, you will provide strategic insight and develop plans to improve the performance of the IEB supply chain. You will collaborate with our business partners in Finance, Inventory Management, Chanel Operation, Logistics and Distribution, and Manufacturing, to develop and implement improvements to IEB’s World Class Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Operations, ensuring optimal support and enablement.
As a business performance partner, you will help our business teams identify and define the end-to-end business scenarios, critical interface points, and core business measures which are most important to the success of the business. You will also elicit business requirements, facilitate the capture of value added business processes, and lead end-to-end User Acceptance Testing, to validate these business scenarios and then ensure solid User Adoption throughout the business.

The right candidate equally enjoys both IT Systems and Business Processes and Operations and is drawn to the excitement of rapid changes related to emerging business strategies and employing information technology to meet business goals.

The ideal candidate understands how to lead change at Microsoft through influence and collaboration. She/he also understands complex strategies and has a broad business background that adds strategic value to the role. This position requires extensive cross-group coordination, outstanding communication skills, excellent project management skills, creative problem solving and a highly organized, process-focused aptitude to manage a variety of responsibilities and deliverables, and most importantly be comfortable distilling focus and direction out of an evolving, and potentially ambiguous, business environment. A candidate must be prepared to succeed against aggressive goals with minimum supervision, be comfortable working with internal and external partners and virtual teams.

• Actively participate in the development of a compelling, multiyear roadmap for the enterprise solution that identify the target audience, provide an implementation strategy, clearly describe how users derive value, and is aligned to business strategies,
• Drive effort to define and document key end-to-end business scenarios. Scenarios will demonstrate alignment of capabilities and critical interface points across different functional teams.
• Articulate the business-case priorities for enterprise solution releases that are aligned to the future state, which will result in delivering business performance improvements aligned to the IEB Manufacturing and Supply Chain and Information Services strategy.
• Lead end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that business processes and systems work in concert together across functional areas. Manage test preparation, pre-test training, test execution, entrance / exit criteria and approval gates. Provide effective communications, prioritization and issue resolution related to test.
• Guide and assist business SMEs to create use case scenarios/user stories, test scripts and training/user reference materials.
• Build relationships with business sponsors, understand their commitments, and establish trust and dialogue on how to support those commitments. Partner with key business stakeholders and business user teams to provide trusted advisor thought leadership in process design and validation efforts.
Develop and present solution proposals & recommendations, including analysis of options, justifications, and tradeoffs.
• Lead improvements in methodologies or frameworks (for example, the IT Lifecycle [ITLC]) across the line of business, which resulted in consistent, predictable, and repeatable processes and projects across the enterprise solution.

Our candidate will have/be:
• Demonstrated leadership ability, knowledge and experience in guiding virtual teams to deliver projects in a fast pasted environment; advanced verbal and written communication skills including facilitation leadership and presentation development.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across groups and all management levels.
• An ability to excel in ambiguous business situations by adapting plans and approach; analytical and organizational skills and sound problem resolution, negotiation, judgment and decision-making skills.
• A self-starter, willing and able to operate with limited supervision.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Team player with proven ability to build trustful relationships and to work in diverse teams.

• 8+ years experience in a functional or business consulting role driving business strategy, architecture, process re-engineering, IT solution delivery / product management required with an emphasis in Supply Chain and/or Finance.
• 5+ years hands-on work experience implementing supply chain/ERP solutions in a Fortune 500 Corporate environment and in an outsourced consumer electronics manufacturing and supply chain industry.
• 3+ years hands-on work experience in process improvement, lean or a quality related methodology.
• Deep functional, hands-on expertise and experience (including configuration and detailed functional specifications)leading the implementation ERP modules (preferably SAP and/or Dynamics AX), preferably in Manufacturing, Materials and Inventory Management, and Sales and Distribution.
• Self-starter that can deal with ambiguity, maintain focus, drive clarity and deliver results.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Team player with proven ability to build trustful relationships and to work in diverse teams.
• Sound problem resolution and decision making skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks to schedule and collaborate across multiple groups. The individual selected for this position should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Solid understanding of software architectures, software development life cycle, and Microsoft products are essential.
• BS degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Engineering (Operations/Industrial) or Computer Science related fields.     

• Prefer experience with retail supply chain, partner integration standards EDI, Rosettanet, and/or Oagis
• Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt Certified
• Lean Certified
• APICS Certified
• SAP certification
