Clinical Specialist

 Position Description

The Field Clinical Specialist will provide technical, educational, and service support to the sales organization and our customer base for the Latin America Region.

Position Responsibilities

• Represent Medtronic during surgeries and implants of our products to provide troubleshooting and technical support.
• Provides technical support to customers during visits to hospitals, clinics, and medical congresses.
• Receives technical inquiries by telephone.
• Provides Patient-on-the-table call support as needed for surgeries.
• Educates and trains distributors and physicians through activities such as in-services, seminars, and symposiums.
• Manages lab needs for NT lab teaching sessions.
• Set-up and breakdown of Midas Rex Hands on Workshop labs.
• Capable of demonstrating Power systems in OR setting and understand the basic of hydrocephalous procedures.
• Travel to local congresses, training sessions, and other marketing and sales oriented activities in the Latin America region to provide support to the distributor network.
• Support our Neurosurgery VIP visits by helping set-up and break down all necessary equipment including navigation
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
• Complies with the Medtronic Powered Surgical Solutions Quality System.
• Must be able to travel for extended period of time.  Primary travel to South America.

Basic Qualifications

• College degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences or related matter.
• 2+ years experience in Medical Sales, ideally within medical device industry.
• Ability to work on weekends will be required.
• Advance proficiency in Spanish and English is a must (read, write, speak).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.

• Must be able to function effectively under time constraints.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and exert influence without alienating others.
• Must be extremely well organized with strong attention to details.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with in medical device technical support role.
• Customer service background preferred.
• Anatomical knowledge preferred.

Physical Job Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
