Consultant

Job Purpose:

The Consultant has the experience and skill set needed to effectively and successfully deliver consulting services to Construction Services clients in an outsourced/transformational setting.  The Consultant utilizes specific subject matter knowledge, finely tuned project management and customer relations skills to contribute to the enterprise, interface with Facility, Planning and Development stakeholders and contracted services providers, monitor Supplier/Facilities, Planning and Development(FPD)/Hospital relationships, communicate and guide stakeholders to ensure compliance and acceptance of system standards , and demonstrate independent strategic thinking as it relates to the opportunity analysis, participation and leading of Value Analysis Teams supporting standardization initiatives.   The Consultant provides direct project evaluation, implementation and monitoring as well as supervising Aspen and client staff as appropriate in delivery of client services.   The Consultant will be responsible for achieving savings for the Hospital enterprise in Construction Services / F.F. & E. service line and at the direction of the Senior Service Line Lead. The Consultant must be able to work in a team environment.

 

Position Objectives:

    * The Consultant will work closely with all members of the Construction Services Team, to include but not limited to, Facilities Planning and Development, contracted service providers, local leadership within each hospital within Health System to include Plant Operations, Bio-Medical Engineering, Ergonomists and Supply Chain.
    * The Consultant will manage projects utilizing the Value Analysis Processes and clearly, concisely and completely communicate to all impacted stakeholders.
    * Develop and roll-out an electronic marketplace solution supporting our Furniture Standard in harmony with our Standards Supplier.
    * Provide clear direction to our distribution partners and manage their services supporting the enterprise need for Moves/Additions/Changes with our furniture standard.
    * Demonstrate strategic thinking as it relates to the implementation of construction services standards across FPD and local projects.
    * Gain a clear and complete working knowledge of the Attainia, the enterprise Capital Equipment Management Tool.
    * Utilizes effective project management skills to produce complete and timely results meeting or exceeding project targets and timelines.
    * Meet all project management reporting requirements within the Supply Chain tool, VMS.
    * Plan and Direct product shows and demonstrations as required in support of standards development.
    * Develop high quality, presentation material as directed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    * Design and implementation of consulting services to achieve cost management reduction in the Construction Services / F.F. & E. service line.  This includes assessing client needs and market trends and developing the project plans, deliverables and timelines to address those needs.
    * Staff development. The Consultant will help in developing Aspen and client staff’s abilities to provide project deliverables as well as create metrics for measuring cost savings as they relate to the Construction Services / F.F. & E. service line.
    * Participation in successful consulting engagements.  The Consultant is responsible to deliver successful consulting engagements to Aspen clients, including providing assigned project oversight and direction.  Success will be defined as the complete and timely meeting of all assigned Construction Services project deliverables included in the engagement contract, including cost savings guarantees, such that the hospital contact/project manager agrees to serve as a reference for Aspen consulting services.  The Consultant will ensure that a high level of customer support is provided both at the client site and off-site at Aspen’s Denver office throughout the engagement.
    * Vendor management.  The Consultant will evaluate, monitor, and correct deficiencies in supplier and client interfaces and relationships.  The consultant will work in harmony with contract management to ensure that all contract pricing is correct from the Supplier to the client. The Consultant will be required to work with Distribution and Asset management partners in support of enterprise demands supporting the product standards initiative.  Responds timely and professionally to all Supplier and client issues, and utilizes a data-based approach to make decisions.
    * Other responsibilities.  The Vice President or Director may assign other duties as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:

    * Five years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, including extensive current knowledge operations practices and general finance in the acute care setting.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    * Previous experience in pharmaceutical distribution and pharmacy contract management in a hospital setting.
    * Prior successful experience with project management and coordination and measurement of project deliverables.   Previous leadership experience helpful.
    * Ability to effectively present information to staff at Aspen and MedAssets and to hospital client Construction Services associated staff and management.
    * Capabilities in the use of personal computers and MS Office software applications sufficient to manage consulting engagements and consulting staff.
