Posting Description
At MWV Specialty Chemicals, we have a genuine passion for helping our customers succeed.  We believe superior technical support is critical to our customer’s ability to get the most out of our products.  As a Product Development Chemist, you will connect our customers to the performance they need through the proper use of MWV performance products.  Your primary responsibilities will be in support of oilfield chemicals. You will provide a comprehensive solution to our customers, not just a product, to solve our customer’s toughest problems.

    * Become an expert on MWV oilfield chemicals, their use, and end application.  To accomplish this, you’ll need to learn fast, be curious & inquisitive, and take accountability for making this happen.

    * Become proficient in the performance testing and synthesis of a range of oilfield related products.

    * Deliver exceptional product and technical assistance to customers across the spectrum of applications to solve their toughest challenges.  This requires superior problem solving and critical thinking skills.

    * Apply proven analytical instrumentation skills (i.e., FTIR, GC, LC) for troubleshooting and product development support.

    * Utilize strong interpersonal and listening skills to build trust and effective relationships with the MWV technical team.

    * Use superior communication skills to prepare and deliver technical reports to the MWV support team.

    * Flourish in environment where the pace is fast and the expectations are high.  In order to succeed, you will need to work on many projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize and reprioritize them based on the business impact.

To succeed in this job, the right attitude will be just as important as your technical abilities.  The technical skills associated with our business lines we can teach – the attitude we cannot.  You need to be someone who is innately wired for accountability, self-motivation, and the desire to go above and beyond to get the job done right.  We will expect you to be a steward of the MWV technical service organization; come to work looking for areas of improvement and take action to make things better. We are looking for superior bench strength, someone who is going to deliver great value to our organization in the future.  We truly believe the skill set mastered in this job will prepare you for the next challenge at MWV.
