Job Summary
We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to assist in the support of the US and LAC broking teams. The qualified candidate will be primarily responsible for partnering and acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO of the LAC region and a group of Branch Managers within the US, as well as working collaboratively with their HRBP counterparts and Centre of Expertise teams.
A critical focus for this role is to participate in the development and the implementation of the Human Capital Strategy for Guy Carpenter. The HRBP will need to develop an excellent knowledge of the strategy and business plans for each of their client groups and use this to create and implement a set of people plans that drives the needs of the business, while managing the delivery of HR services within the HR operating model and strategy.

    * Partner with line management to lead and facilitate change, personally acting as a change agent when appropriate, to ensure continued capacity for change within the Business Unit.
    * In conjunction with the senior management team, develop and implement a people plan for the business unit that drives its key business objectives. To include areas such as talent & performance management, succession planning and staff engagement.
    * Implement HR projects within the Business Unit to deliver solutions, which meet identified business requirements particularly in areas of employee engagement, working with the Centers of Expertise as appropriate.
    * Implement HR policy at a Business Unit level, tailoring it to fit local business needs whilst ensuring an appropriate level of consistency and compliance.
    * Ensure the delivery of quality HR services to the Business Unit, in liaison with HR Support Services and the Centers of Expertise.
    * Develop and support line management to increase the overall leadership capability with their Business Units.
    * Maintain a sound understanding of the markets, strategies and operations of the Business Unit in order to identify and provide appropriate HR support.
    * Act as a key point of contact for the Centers of Excellence sharing experience and knowledge to ensure recommendations are fit for purpose and will deliver to the requirements of their client group.
    * Maintain an up-to-date understanding of HR and legal developments in order to identify potential impacts on the business and suggest options to minimize risk to the organization.


    * At least 10 years general HR experience with a minimum of 4 years working as a Business Partner.
    * Excellent experience of supporting diverse groups in the US and LAC regions and a good understanding of employment laws and practices in both regions.   
    * Proven track record in working with front line sales teams in a complex financial sales environment. within a large multinational financial institution
    * Proven track record in delivering business focused HR solutions to senior leaders.
    * Strong consulting, project management, coaching and leadership ability.
    * Excellent understanding of the financial services sector, experience of either reinsurance or insurance would be of benefit.
    * Ability to influence senior line manager and staff to work within a Global HR model.
    * Adopts a solution-based approach to address client issues, identifies and implements new solutions which add value.
    * Ability to provide intellectual rigor to business decision-making.
    * Builds coalitions of support for ideas and policies to enable execution.
    * Personal credibility and an ability to influence key stakeholders throughout the organization.
    * Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills.
    * Bachelor’s degree required.  Major in HR, Management or Finance preferred.
    * PHR or SPHR preferred.
