A Manager of Planning and Resource Management (PRM) The Manager of Planning and Resource Management (PRM) will work as a member of the Planning and Resource Management group to ensure timely and appropriate resourcing of Clinical Operations staff to potential, new and existing projects and provide accurate and timely information about current and future staffing needs to ICON senior management. JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which center on our commitment to People, Clients and Performance. As a Manager, recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes, adding value to our business and meeting client needs. Provide leadership and mentoring to other department members, as necessary, and manage other department members, as assigned. Comply with the PRM departmental Service Level Agreement (SLA). Work effectively with senior management, and all other necessary departments to facilitate timely response to client requests. Work with the operational leads towards the accurate and timely maintenance of project requirements and allocation information in the resource management system. Work with operational departments that support PRM data base activities. Maintain effective communication with all relevant stakeholders on data base issues. Work with departments identified by upper management to properly establish base-line data within the resource management application, establish working procedures and integrating the process into the working model. Promptly escalate critical resource issues to Director as required. Communicate appropriately and effectively with clients and ICON colleagues. Upon notification of project award, facilitate appropriate data base entry of all initial clinical staff project requirements according to the original budget. Ensuring compliance. Manage customer requests as needed within the PRM application system to ensure timely response from the data entry team in accordance to the Service Level Agreement. Conduct regular reviews of the resource database report(s) to determine the quality of the data for all data input activities; including completion of all required RFP key data points, including appropriate or missing primary functional roles, updates in clinical end dates and missing data. This includes all data for which PRM is maintaining and that supplies auxiliary data bases. Assist with Resource Management issues as required by Director/Manager of PRM. Manage direct report activities and assignments. Training PRM members on all aspects of administrative activities associated with the resource management database. Identify and address issues raised by staff members. Escalate identified issues to line manager for action. Travel (<10%) domestic and/or international. Other duties assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of 5 years experience within the clinical research industry with prior management experience. Ability to successfully multi-task and liaise with staff and management in operational and service departments. Understanding of financial costing, utilization and recovery. Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Competent computer skills. Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employees location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers license.
