Electronics Engineering

EE Architect position for an individual who shall participate in determining the electrical hardware requirements for, and architecting solutions for the next generation of Cymer EUV light sources. The selected individual shall work closely with the software and algorithms control teams to develop architectures that can meet the needs of today and support the continuous growth of a complex controls system needed to support the evolution of the technologies used to create EUV light.  Challenges include synchronizing the generation of droplets of metal to the firing of multiple high power lasers to cause the generation of 13.5nm laser light, measuring and confirming the efficiency of the process, and then controlling the change of parameters including timing and steering at a 50KHz rep rate.  This individual must have the desire to participate in the challenges faced to be part of a highly skilled organization that self-obsoletes its own products to lead the microchip lithography light source technology.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•                    Works with a team to develop requirements for controls and is the principal individual responsible for the architecture needed to meet the requirements.

•                    Work closely with cross functional teams including gas and vacuum engineers, optical engineers, and scientists to insure controls systems architecture supports the technical needs of the system.

•                    Applies innovative Electrical Engineering solutions to new product development at both the research and productization phases.

•                    Under limited supervision, exercises appropriate design and analysis as required to meet design objectives.

•                    Completes projects using appropriate engineering, design verification, and quality process controls.

•                    Assists in creating resource and technical plans for focused engineering projects.  Coordinates with Functional Management project managers to prioritize and complete work assignments.

•                    Creates controlled engineering documentation, commissions and approves engineering drawings, and evaluates data from bench and system tests.

•                    Helps to facilitate the smooth transition of new designs and concepts from scientists to manufacturing, including assessment of technical approaches and risks.

•                    Supports their released designs through continuous quality monitoring & improvement, obsolescence mitigation, as well as providing field and factory support for problem solving.
