Technical Writer

     
To provide high quality technical documentation for use both within CDNZ and as deliverables to customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

KEY RESULT AREAS
    

OUTPUTS

Produce effective technical documentation
    

·         User Manuals

·         Technical Manuals

·         Maintenance Manuals

·         Training Aids

·         Aide Memoire

·         Project related document templates

System Engineering
    

·         Editing and updating of system engineering documentation including system specifications.

·         Editing and updating presentations.

Build and Maintain
    

Document templates for:

·         external and internal use

·         project/programs as per customer contractual requirement

Visualization/ Technical Illustration
    

Create high end graphics and illustrations for manuals and other technical documents.

 

Planning
    

·         Effective time management, planning and organizational skills.

·         Communicate regularly with engineers; systems, hardware, software and mechanical.

·         Communicate and co-ordinate with ILS manager, other technical writers and program manager.

·         Gather prompt and accurate information throughout the various phases of the project.

Health and Safety
    

Ensure own health and safety and that of others by following all rules and procedures, reporting and managing all hazards in the work area and actively contributing to, and participating in, company health and safety initiatives.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum qualifications required:
    

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering discipline would be beneficial but not essential.

Experience required:
    

·         Proficiency in Technical Writing based on

5 Years minimum experience.

·         Demonstrated documentation experience in an engineering environment, preferably electronic.

·         Proficiency in technical authoring and illustrating software.

·         Basic photography skills.

·         Experience in content management and technical illustrations would be advantageous.
