Job Description

CUBESMART has an immediate opening for a DISTRICT MANAGER to oversee a portfolio of self-storage facilities.  This is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor as CubeSmart has positioned itself to enter a period of heavy growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A District Manager is responsible for the overall operations of assigned properties within the district including full P&L responsibility as well as revenue maximizing opportunities.

The focus of the District Manager is to motivate and lead the staff at the properties to meet goals and corporate standards including:
• Rentals & Occupancy Rates
• Insurance Penetration
• Merchandise Sales
• Accounts Receivables

This position will be also be directly responsible for developing and implementing successful marketing initiatives within the district. Also, the District Manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels through recruitment and retention to ensure quality customer service.

This position reports directly to the Divisional Vice President.

Successful District Manager candidates must have a proven sales record and the ability to coach and develop employees to be as successful as you! Candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years experience in multi-unit retail sales operations. Previous experience in the self-storage industry a plus but not required as many successful candidates have come from the following industries:
• Big Box Retail / Sales
• Health / Fitness
• Hotel / Restaurant / Hospitality
• Travel / Car Rental
• Rental / Leasing

Qualifications:
 
Candidates for the position of District Manager need to possess the following qualifications:
• Proven ability to consistently meet and exceed performance standards
• Demonstrates leadership and management ability
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills
• Proven ability to develop and coach people
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Able to prioritize multiple projects and deal with numerous interruptions
• Work well under pressure, meeting deadlines consistently
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Computer skills: A sophisticated user of the Microsoft suite of products.
• Outstanding follow-up skills

The District Manager position is a full-time, exempt position that will work out of a divisional or home  office that facilitates easy access to all facilities within assigned district.  Relocation assistance available to the right candidate. Frequent regional and occasional overnight travel is required.
