Claims Supervisor

Supervise the TN claims staff to ensure all quality, productivity and customer service criteria are met while adhering to company policies and procedures; monitor individual claim activity and workloads, give technical and jurisdictional direction regarding claims, provide training and perform claim audits.
Essential Job Duties:     Duties 1. Interview and train new staff on procedures and job-related functions 2. Review job performance and recommend merit reviews, subject to manager's approval 3. Identify and participate in training and developmental need of the claims staff 4. Communicate appropriate information to staff 5. Provide technical and jurisdictional direction to claims staff 6. Be the liaison for customers and employees regarding claim specific, procedural or special requests; suggest and implement final resolution 7. Conduct claims reviews/audits to ensure appropriate management of the claims; make suggestions and follow-up 8. Identify trends and challenges; recommend an action plan to management for continuous process improvement for implementation 9. Ensure the needs of the customer are met 10. Maintain a consistent delivery of our quality service 11. Performs other duties as assigned by claims operation manger Required Skills 1. Strong understanding of the TN Work Comp jurisdiction 2. Excellent oral and written communication skills 3. PC literate, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Internet Explorer and Outlook 4. Strong knowledge of all job-related functions of subordinates 5. Effective quantitative, analytical and interpretive skills 6. Strong leadership, management and motivational skills 7. Strong organizational skills 8. Good interpersonal skills 9. Ability to work in a team environment 10. Ability to work independently 11. Knowledge of the entire claims administration, case management and cost containment solution as applicable to Workers' Compensation 12. Thorough knowledge of appropriate insurance principles and laws for workers' compensation
Education/Training Requirements:     EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Four year degree at an accredited college or university preferred • Professional certification as applicable to Workers Compensation preferred • Prior supervisory experience preferred
