FIELD SUPPORT ENGINEER
JOB SUMMARY
The Instrumentation Field Support Engineer will apply knowledge and experience of Instrumentation seismic operations as well as navigation and mechanical equipment to assist in vessel rigging, startups and upgrades. He/She will assist support managers in training and support of vessels. Assist Instrumentation TSG and Marine R&D in the development of new and existing equipment.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Travel at short notice for extended period
* Vessel requirements varying by time and location
* Communicate effectively and promptly with remote vessels and vendors
* Manage vendors lead time for part and equipment required for installation or repair
* stay up to date with new equipment either via training at vendor location on hands on the field
* Produce or assist in documenting procedures and best practices for vessel crew
* Prepare reports related to testing of fields equipment and systems
* Follow up action plan as a result of vessel feedback ( TSR, Prism,VFR)
* Set priority and work plan for vendors and assigned crew during port-call/dry docks
* Extend the useful life of field equipment by providing proper handling, maintenance and services procedures to the crews
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Technical background with 3 years minimum experience as Offshore observers
* Used to international exposure
* Self-motivated and has excellent initiatives
* Strong capabilities of independant thinking and able to make sound decisions
* Good influencing and communication skills in a highly matrix and international environment
* A team player able to work effectively with peers or staff at all levels
* Fluent in English.
